France Trip We had an amazing trip to France during the month of June! We were able to visit four different cities (Algrange, Chalons-en-Champagne, Bordeaux, and the Paris area), spending about a week in each place. Our host missionaries in each location were so helpful in working with us to understand the ongoing ministries in the country. We are so thankful for the friendships that were forged during this time, and the clarity that God provided through it.
Thank you so much for your prayers for us - God answered them! We received clarity on what ministry may look like, encouragement from the missionaries, as well as reinvigoration to return as quickly as possible! We also have a clearer picture of what the needs are in the nation, regarding both church planting and theological education. Please continue to pray for us as we, Lord-willing, finish deputation in the next year (or less) and prepare to minister in France.
BMM's "Launch Seminar" As we write this, we are preparing for a week of training at the Baptist Mid-Missions Global Ministries Center called Launch Seminar. This is the final training with our board before “launching” out to our respective fields. This is an exciting milestone for our family. Please pray that God would use this time to prepare us as well as enjoy some fellowship with fellow missionaries.
New Support Milestone! We have also hit a milestone in our support-raising! We have the privilege of announcing that we have hit the 70% mark of committed monthly support! We are so thankful for God’s provision for us, as well as you, our partners and co-laborers! We also have a good amount of our outfit and passage, but we will finalize the estimates with our mission board this week to determine what needs there still are. Lord willing, we would like to have the deputation phase completed by early next year so that we can complete cultural training and be on the field by early summer.
We are humbled by God’s work in our lives as well as the amazing prayer and financial partners he has given us.
Praises:
A very successful survey trip in France.
Strong relationships built with several missionary families in France.
A clearer picture of the spiritual and ministry needs in the nation, and how God is preparing us to serve Him there.
The kids have a better understanding of what life will be like in France, and are excited to return!
Prayer:
That we will have a helpful and productive time at "Launch Seminar" this Tuesday-Friday.
That we will be able to build strong partnerships during the second half of this year (lots of meetings on the calendar)!
The continued discipling of our kids.
Continued direction as we work out the details of our first term (housing, language school options, etc.) with our mission board and mentors on the field.
Your friends, Michael, Jessica, Amelia, & Jack
